Membership Terms & Conditions

 

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“Member”) and the Service Desk Institute (“SDI”). By applying for and obtaining membership with SDI, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

SDI is the global professional body for Service Desk Professionals.

Please read these Terms carefully before applying for SDI membership. Your acceptance of these Terms is a condition to your membership and access to SDI’s resources.

 

Membership Benefits

 

SDI offers two levels of membership: Community Membership and Premium Membership. Each membership level provides various benefits as follows:

Community Membership allows you to:

  • Access exclusive content and resources on the SDI website
  • Save articles and events as ‘favourites’
  • See which events and training courses you have booked
  • Update your account information

Premium Membership gives you all the above benefits of Community Membership plus:

  • Ability to add 5 users to your account, giving them access to Membership benefits
  • Access to the SDI Member Forum to chat and network with other members
  • Discounted Conference tickets
  • Discounted Training courses
  • Exclusive premium content and resources
  • Free places at face-to-face SDI events
  • The opportunity to purchase additional add-ons such as extra users and training discounts in the member shop

The specific benefits of each membership level are detailed on the SDI website. SDI reserves the right to modify these benefits at any time without prior notice.

 

Use of SDI Membership Logo

 

Members may use the SDI membership logo as follows:

Community Members

In personal emails, letters, and communications by the individual community member only for the duration of the membership.

Premium Members

In personal emails, letters, and communications by any person working within the service desk at the membership site, for internal communications during the membership period.

 

Cooling-Off Period

 

New members have a five (5) working day cooling-off period from the date of confirmation of membership during which they can cancel their subscription without penalty.

To cancel, you must notify SDI in writing at via email at [email protected]. Once any membership benefits have been used (e.g., accessing discounts, downloading reports, or booking events), cancellation is not permitted until the renewal period.

 

Right to Refuse or Downgrade Applications

 

SDI reserves the right to refuse or cancel membership applications if payment authorisation cannot be obtained. If false or misleading information is provided during the application process, SDI reserves the right to revoke membership immediately without appeal.

 

Renewals, Cancellations, and Refunds

 

To cancel your membership upon renewal, you must inform SDI in writing via email at [email protected] before the start of the new membership term. Once the renewal has commenced, cancellation is not permitted, and no refunds will be provided unless prior notice was given.

 

Price & Price Increase Information

 

By accepting these Terms, you agree to pay the membership fees as specified on the SDI website’s order form page.

SDI reserves the right to increase membership fees annually in line with inflation and will take effect on the next renewal date of your membership. You will be notified of any fee change in your renewal letter prior to the commencement of the renewal membership term.

 

Credit/Debit Card Payment

 

If you use a credit or debit card that is not your own for membership payment, you must obtain permission from the cardholder before entering payment details. By applying for membership, you confirm that such permission has been obtained.

 

Links to Other Websites

 

SDI’s website may contain links to third-party websites. SDI is not responsible for the content of external sites and disclaims any liability for information or material available on such sites.

 

Variation of Terms

 

SDI reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time with 15 working days’ prior written notice. The most recent version of the Terms & Conditions will be binding.

 

SDI Trademark

 

The “Service Desk Institute” trademark is owned by SDI. These Terms & Conditions do not grant any license to use this trademark.

 

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

 

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Members irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

 

Queries, Comments, and Complaints

 

SDI will respond to any complaints or queries within 10 working days. For any issues regarding your membership, please contact SDI at [email protected] and [email protected].
